eyeQ Phonics teaches 3 critical steps to reading within the first 3 weeks of the program.
| Teach your child how to read in only three and one-half weeks! The program begins with the basics of learning letters and sounds and incorporates literature early in the learning process. Designed for children ages 3-7. The program lays the foundation for a beginning reader's life through simple, powerful and effective teaching methods that build self-esteem and support the love of learning. |
The first step is Letters and Sounds. In this phase of the program, both concepts of phonemic awareness and phonics instructions are taught. Only one letter and sound is taught per lesson, and we do not teach them in alphabetical order. The lessons are taught using a multi-sensory approach including music, games, and object lessons so they’re fun for the child. But more importantly, these concepts of visual, musical, motor, analytical, and tactile exercises ensures that the lessons will be remembered.
The second step is Blending. The ability to sound out words. Children will learn how to blend after learning only five letters. For example, the first five letters taught in the program are M, A, P, S and T. This method has been extremely effective with beginning readers because they don’t feel overwhelmed with trying to remember all 26 sounds when they are learning how to blend. The third step is Reading Books. This is the most exciting step for children. After children have learned the first eight letters in the program, they will be introduced to their first reading book. Fluency and Comprehension are key elements of this third step.
